Better gAteway does what the title says — it takes deviantART's new outgoing link gateway and makes it better! But not only that, it adds new, exciting features related to the use of outgoing links in posts around dA!

What Better gAteway does:
Makes the gateway message appear faster as an overlay, without additional load time
Revamps the gateway message to display the entire URL up front
Adds the ability to create your own whitelist with sites you would always trust not to serve malware, and no gateway will be displayed at all when navigating to those!
Adds the ability to display links to external media (images or YouTube videos) directly inline in the dA post, it was referred. This can optionally be set to happen automatically when you click whitelist'd links
Optionally, adds external link icons near all external links (or only those not on your whitelist)
Almost every feature is customizable from the built-in Preferences panel!

New features just added in 1.0beta2 on June 1st:
Google Video support
Even if you have the gateway turned on, it will now still automatically embed videos and images, if you have that set to on. So you don't have to use the gateway to get embeds!
You can now easily close embedded external media again, just click the new lil' close button next to the media!
You can now open external media inside an easily closable pop-up panel (“lightbox”) in addition to inline, and choose which one of those two methods you prefer!
In addition to the external link icons, you can also choose to let the script add little external media icons next to external media links, so you can see from a distance if it's an image or a video.

This userscript is sort of an amalgamation of all ideas related to the deviantART outgoing links gateway and external links in general — you can make it do what you want, and if you've got some new great ideas, please send me a note, and I'll consider adding them! This is still a beta version.
